From his childhood dream of becoming a Naval Officer to his current leadership role, his career reflects a blend of passion and expertise. - Can you provide a brief overview of your current role and the main responsibilities associated with it?
In my role, I develop and implement maintenance procedures, ensuring the seamless operation of facilities at Everty One Nigeria. My responsibilities include coordinating the upkeep of the facilities, ensuring they are fully functional and compliant with established health and safety regulations. I strive to deliver high-quality services at the most cost-effective rates. Additionally, I keep Global Management informed of significant issues arising from daily operations, while training, directing, and evaluating assigned personnel. As the Services Manager, I oversee the operational management of all equipment at Everty One Tower in Nigeria, guaranteeing optimal performance and efficiency.
2. What does a typical day look like for you in your current position?
I usually start my day by checking the status of the facilities. A typical day includes monitoring the events, coordinating with the team, following up on pending tasks, and conducting random Management By Walkaround (MBWA) inspections.
3. What aspects of your job do you find most rewarding and fulfilling?
I find it deeply rewarding to create a conducive environment where people can live, work, and thrive. It is incredibly fulfilling to solve problems and establish a platform that supports and enables other human activities to flourish.
4. Are there any skills or areas of expertise that you feel are particularly crucial for success in your current role?
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, analytical and problem-solving expertise, along with technical knowledge, are crucial to successfully performing my current role.
5. What did you aspire to be when you were a child?
As a young and innocent child, I dreamed of becoming a Naval Officer.
6. Did you ever envision, during your youth, that you would eventually find yourself working in the real estate/hospitality sector?
Yes, I got the inspiration after my secondary school days when I worked briefly as a laborer on construction sites. I developed interest and chose the path for my tertiary education.
7. What activities do you enjoy doing in your free time? What are you most passionate about?
I truly enjoy spending time with my family, whether it is playing games with my daughters or working together to solve their homework.
8. What is the best place you have ever been to?
The best place I have ever been to is my own home. There’s no place more fulfilling or comforting than my own place.
9. What do you consider to be the happiest moment in your life?
The happiest moment of my life was when we welcomed my first daughter. The joy and excitement of becoming a father were beyond words, an experience like no other.
10. Is there anything pending on your bucket list that you would like to do in your lifetime?
If fate allows, one of my biggest dreams is to travel the world and experience the diverse cultures and landscapes the globe has to offer.
