Everty is proud of the longstanding success and reputation of Jürgen’s, the beloved restaurant that blends European influences and Costa Rican ingenuity in the lively, classic neighborhood of Barrio Dent, San Jose.
We’re excited to announce that the existing building will be demolished, and a new property will be constructed featuring corporate offices with Jürgen’s located on the top floor where guests can view the breathtaking San Jose skyline as they dine.
The restaurant will close temporarily on December 18 and will reopen in 2024 to debut its reimagined look and feel.
Reinventing an Icon
Fine dining in Costa Rica has a name: Jürgen’s. Our guests have enjoyed delicious food paired with some of the best-imported wines in the country, with exceptional service also a staple of the restaurant for over 20 years.
We’re now ready to embark on an impressive renovation project that will reimagine the environment and provide a stand-out experience.
The space will receive a ground-up renovation over 2023, developing an office tower block where a modern workforce will work and thrive.
The Jürgen’s restaurant will move to the top floor of the new building and its original one-room layout will expand into three beautifully designed areas:
- A 74-seat five-star restaurant
- An elegant bar
- A stunning rooftop terrace
The well-known restaurant will keep its name and remain a symbol of culinary excellence, distinguished service, and attention to detail. Everty is thrilled to debut Jürgen’s reinvented and dynamic new look and welcome guests to an elevated culinary experience in the heart of Barrio Dent, San Jose.
We are not saying goodbye, just farewell for now whilst we deliver our ground-up renovation plan.

We were delighted to welcome our most loyal, regular customers, local media, and key figures in the community to a special event that took place on November 15. We unveiled our renovation plans and gave guests ample notice of the temporary closure of the restaurant.
